Help with reading piano sheet music?

I have some music sheets that have many staves. But I just want to play the melody and the bass. Which do I play?Help with reading piano sheet music?
Many staffs as in a director's score ... you'll have to make a reduction of that. Even if it's a quartet or quint piece, you'll have to make a piano reduction.

Is it written for solo piano? If so, it's probably written in multiple staves to make it easier. It does take extra practice to play from more than two staves, but sometimes that is easier than the alternatives.





It would help in answering if you could scan a copy and post it.
